Business process outsourcing company Asurion opened a facility in Clark Global City in Mabalacat, Pampanga that will create about 1,560 jobs for Filipinos.

Asurion Clark, a new IT-BPM project, opens in Clark Global City.

The company is now hiring actively in Clark as part of its global push to accommodate the continued growth in the tech services industry, according to the Board of Investments which approved the project.

Asurion began its roots in the Philippines in 2009, with Asurion Clark as its fifth project costing P813.75 million.

Techlog Center LLC., a company of the Asurion group, is a BOI-registered firm since Jan. 18 this year.  Through the newly inaugurated project, Techlog will provide BPO services to the US, the UK and Asia Pacific clients.

The company’s partners from the industry and various sectors, including the BOI, attended the inauguration ceremony on July 12. Representing the BOI was Infrastructure and Services Industries Service acting director Annie Raganit who attended the inauguration and held informal discussions with Asurion’s officials.

Raganit underscored the benefits from the new project, which could lead to more jobs for Filipinos.

“We take pride in having Asurion/Techlog Center LLC – West Aeropark Clark Global City as a BOI registered enterprise beginning January 18, 2023 for bringing FDI in the country and providing more career opportunities for our fellow Filipinos,” Raganit said.

Asurion Clark senior director for customer solutions Adam Hachey and chief customer officer Todd Chretien expressed excitement on continuously working with the BOI for the company’s next projects.

Techlog Center Philippines recognized the BOI for the ease of registering their project and for the incentives under CREATE Act.  It said it chose the BOI as its investment promotion agency because of the absence of work arrangement restrictions to a BPO project including those locating within economic zones.

The country’s IT-BPM sector is one of the best-performing and employment generating activities in the country.

The new investment in the IT-BPM sector is expected generate output amounting to around P1.49 billion and generate P760 million in contribution to household income.

Asurion now employs over 5,000 people across its facilities in Calamba, Iloilo City, Nuvali and BGC. Globally, the company has more than 25,000 employees, serving over 300 million customers worldwide.

Asurion has led the technology protection industry around the globe, as it provides support solutions to enable optimum use of technology, digital applications to protect people’s privacy and provide security.  Asurion’s project shows that the Philippines continues to attract global industry players, and aligns with the BOI’s thrust to create high-quality job opportunities for Filipinos by making more strategic investments happen.
