Global tech services company Asurion Philippines announced plans to hire 700 employees in its new facility in Clark Freeport as part of its commitment to support the local economy, while providing tech care services to customers.

Asurion Clark Site director Trevor Willams said the company is committed to helping develop the local labor economy of Central Luzon given its growing infrastructure, talented workforce and vibrant environment.

“As a captive in-house company, we believe that our continued growth paired with the benefits and perks that come with these roles, will encourage Pampanga locals to work within the province instead of in the highly populated central business district and make Asurion the employer of choice,” he said.

The firm employs more than 5,000 people across four facilities in the country, including a distribution center in Calamba City, an IT services facility in Manila and two customer service centers in Santa Rosa and Iloilo. The company hopes to replicate the same success in Clark.

Asurion hopes to help raise Central Luzon’s labor force participation rate which is lower than the national rate of 64.2 percent in October 2022.
The company is hiring talents for technical support, customer care representatives, with additional human resources, operations, training and support positions. Asurion is certified as A Great Place to Work for 2023.

The firm said its expansion would not only create jobs, but businesses also stand to benefit from increased economic activity. Asurion’s commitment to the region is a positive sign that it sees Central Luzon as an important location for its business.

Asurion has more than 19,000 employees worldwide and has been in operations in the Philippines since 2009.
