The National Book Development Board (NBDB) is bringing back the Philippine Book Festival (PBF), the country’s biggest traveling book fair, for its second year.

Held from April 25 to 28 at the World Trade Center in Pasay, the PBF promises a four-day extravaganza showcasing the best of Philippine literature, culture, and arts. It’s a family-friendly event that seamlessly blends education, entertainment, tourism, and shopping – all under one roof.

This year’s festival boasts a wider variety of talks and workshops featuring some of the Philippines’ most celebrated authors and artists. Highlights include book signings and meet-and-greets with bestselling author Gwy Saludes and historian Ambeth Ocampo. Renowned screenwriter Ricky Lee will present Trip to Quiapo, while a special tribute will be paid to National Artist Nick Joaquin.

The PBF brings back crowd favorites like the Rare Book Collection showcasing historical treasures, and the Book Bar – a library filled with award-winners. Unleash your inner geek at Cosplay Filipiniana, or marvel at the artwork of talented children’s book illustrators at Guhit Pambata

The PBF caters to all interests. Explore Kid Lit, a haven for children’s books; Komiks, a spotlight on Filipino comics; Booktopia, brimming with fiction and non-fiction titles; and Aral Aklat, dedicated to textbooks and educational materials. Each realm will host exciting talks, activities, and workshops tailored to its audience.

The Philippine Book Festival goes beyond entertainment. It’s part of the NBDB’s initiative to foster a love of reading and support the local publishing industry. With free entrance and extended hours, the festival aims to make books accessible to all Filipinos.
