As one of the most significant annual events for Filipino CPAs, the 76th Annual National Convention of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants will go full blast via an immersive virtual conference on Nov. 24 to 27.
The highly-anticipated annual event will include informative technical sessions, exciting programs, engaging fellowship activities and an impressive lineup of speakers who are all aligned to the event’s theme Transform: Embracing Possibilities, Realizing Potentials.
This serves as the rallying cry for the 76th PICPA ANC, challenging members and participants to proactively and meaningfully change themselves for the better by applying resiliency, agility and innovation. It also invites everyone to take advantage of emerging technologies, with the understanding that that the skills and capabilities needed today are vastly different from those of five years ago.
On opening day, the keynote address will be delivered by Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Benjamin Diokno. It will be followed by a CEO forum moderated by business news correspondent Michelle Ong. The forum will focus on surviving and growing beyond the pandemic and will have Jose Victor Paterno, president and CEO of Philippine Seven Corp. and Bienvenido V. Tantoco III, president of Rustan Commercial Corporation as panelists.
This will be followed by a technical session on CPAs as economic front-liners in the post-pandemic economy, which will be participated in by Finance Undersecretary Antonette Tionko, COVID-19 Testing Czar Vivencio Dizon and Philippine Stock Exchange senior vice president and chief operating officer Roel Refran.
Other government officials who will participate in the different technical sessions are Board of Accountancy chairman Noe Quiñanola, Securities and Exchange Commission chairman Emilio Aquino, Commissioner Roland Pondoc of the Commission of Audit, Deputy Commissioner Arnel Guballa of the Bureau of Internal Revenue, Undersecretary Emmanuel Rey Caintic of the Department of Information and Communications Technology, Undersecretary Mark Dennis Joven of the Department of Finance and Assistant Secretary Rolando Toledo of the Department of Budget Management.
The event will also feature a stellar roster of internationally-recognized speakers, including Amanda Gethin and Clive Webb from the United Kingdom, Jason Yau from Hong-Kong and Azran Osman-Rani from Malaysia.
In addition to the technical sessions and forums, the 76th PICPA ANC will feature awards and recognition ceremonies, raffles, Mobile Legends tournaments, quiz challenges and regional presentations.
One of the highlights of the event will be the fellowship night hosted by VJ AI Dela Cruz and Edward Barber, which will include performances from Jed Madela, Nyoy Volante, Daryl Ong, Jason Dy, Janine Berdin, Sherin Regis, Vina Morales and other talents from ABS-CBN Global Ltd.
These activities will be experienced by participants via a specially developed platform with microsites and other features.
PICPA’s national president for FY 2021-2022 Marydith Miguel, together with the 76th ANC organizing committee chair Henry Tan, co-chairs Ma. Teodoro Josephat Martinez Jr. and Hentje Leo Leaño and their members; and the host of the 76th ANC, PICPA Metro Manila Geographical Area Office with chairman Aldrin Cerrado; and the Metro Manila Region Council and chapters headed by Geraldine Apostol are inviting Filipino CPAs here and abroad to register and participate in the 76th ANC.
