COVID-19 testing czar and deputy chief implementer of the National Task Force on COVID 19 Sec. Vivencio Dizon remains a part of the Duterte administration.
Dizon did not join the team of presidential aspirant and Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, Malacanang also said.
“Sec. Dizon remains to be a working member of President Rodrigo Duterte’s Cabinet,” Cabinet Secretary and Palace spokesman Karlo Nograles said.
“There is no truth to the reports circulating that Secretary Dizon joined the campaign team of a presidential aspirant,” Nograles said.
He said Dizon is focused on the vaccination efforts of the government, and not on any political campaign.
Lito Banayo, chief campaign strategist of Domagoso, claimed that Dizon joined Moreno’s campaign team. He said Dizon will serve as Domagoso’s deputy campaign manager and
head of the statistical research team.
The reports came after Dizon resigned as president and chief executive officer of the Bases and Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) on October 15.
Nograles, however, clarified that Dizon stays as one of the front-runners in the Duterte administration’s anti-coronavirus efforts.
