VisMin Super Cup’s second conference to close season

Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup will hold its second conference to close out the year.

The one-month open tournament will take place from November 20 to December 19, 2021 at the Pagadian City Gymnasium.

Seven teams from Mindanao will be competing is headlined by defending Southern champions Basilan-BRT Peace Riders.

The rest of the field are the MisOr Kuyamis, Iligan Archangels, Kapatagan Buffalos, Pagadian Explorers, Roxas Vanguards, and the Zamboanga Sibugay Anak Mindanao Warriors.

For league Chief Operating Officer Rocky Chan, ending the year with a tournament for the south’s basketball players is their way of giving livelihood to the players before Christmas.

“After taking a few months off, we are excited to start again so we can provide livelihoods to our players, coaches, and the people in Pagadian,” said Chan. “We definitely want to end the year right with this tournament.”

The rest of the member teams from Visayas took a leave of absence for the meantime but vowed to return come the 2022 season.

The tournament will have a double round robin elimination round with the top team automatically gaining a semis berth.

The semifinals will be a knockout game while the championship series will be a best-of-three.

Chooks-to-Go continued its support for the league as it continues to showcase the talents of the south in basketball.

“We are proud of the Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup for continuing with its goal of promoting basketball, especially in Mindanao,” said Chooks-to-Go president Ronald Mascariñas, a proud son of Butuan City. “And as promised, our relationships with the leagues we are supporting won’t be affected with us being named as the organizers for the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League.”

Also supporting the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup are HeiHei Burger, MDC, WCube Solutions, Phenom Sportswear, Finn Cotton, Virux, Gatorade, and Tolak Angin.
