The Tingog Party-list group led by Rep. Yedda Marie K. Romualdez took center stage during the COVID-19 vaccination drive in Hilongos, Leyte on Thursday after being awarded by the local government for championing the welfare and interests of the people.

TINGOG AID. Hilongos Mayor Albert Villahermosa hails Tingog party-list group represented by its nominee, actress-singer Karla Estrada for bringing social protection projects, programs, and services to blunt the impact of COVID-19 to the community and his constituents.

Hilongos Mayor Albert Villahermosa hailed Tingog, represented by its nominee, actress-singer Karla Estrada for bringing social protection projects, programs, and services to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 to the community and his constituents.

Tingog partnered with the Department of Health (DoH) and Hilongos’ local government unit (LGU) led by Villahermosa in providing free meals for 1,000 persons who were given COVID-19 jabs at Brgy. Western Poblacion here.

During the event, Estrada, the proud mother of actor and recording artist Daniel Padilla, turned over 10 brand new wheelchairs to the physically impaired beneficiaries here to boost their morale.

Villahermosa lauded Tingog’s unselfishness in providing the needed assistance to Hilongos as the pandemic continues to unleash its negative impact to the livelihood of the people.

“In grateful recognition of the meritorious service and generous support accorded to the municipality of Hilongos. In the successful conduct of the feeding program and the turnover of ten wheelchairs,” Villahermosa said in the certificate that Estrada received on behalf of Tingog Party-list.

Villahermosa also thanked the group for its support to Hilongos through the medical and burial assistance provided to them.

The mayor said Tingog will come back for the upcoming payout of cash-for-work program for displaced workers under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers  (TUPAD) of Labor Sec. Silvestre Bello III.

Tingog has been active and busy conducting a series of feeding programs and events in Region VIII that benefit many people, help alleviate hunger, and reduce micronutrient deficiency.
