The Pacific Water Queens stunned the Glutagence Glow Boosters, 71-61, last Saturday for their first win in the Pia Cayetano WNBL Season 2021 at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga.
Jollina Go scored 27 points and converted 6 of her 10 three-point attempts and the Queens finally won a game after five outings in the first season of the women’s pro basketball league.
Snow Penaranda had 13 points and 16 rebounds and Cara Buendia totaled 13 points and 15 rebounds for the Water Queens as they gave the Glow Boosters their first loss after starting out the season 3-0.
Pacific Water outscored Glutagence, 20-10, in the second period with Go converting three triples as the Queens led, 34-25, at halftime.
Go also scored back-to-back triples in the third and Pacific Water tasted a 13-point lead, 53-40, at the end of the quarter.
Buendia made a lay-up with 5:53 left in the fourth and the Queens gained their biggest lead of the game at 64-46.
Raiza Palmera-Dy scored 28 points for Glutagence but lost in its fourth game of the season and dropped to second place behind Paranaque Lady Aces.
The Glow Boosters return to action on Sunday when they face the Lady Aces at 1:15 p.m.
