ANGELES CITY – City Hall employees, whether permanent, casual or contractual workers, will receive a total of P34,000 as year-end incentives, including a P17,000 Christmas bonus, Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. said Wednesday.

Apart from the Christmas bonus, the incentive includes a Collective Negotiation Agreement bonus of P6,000, service recognition incentives worth P6,000, and productivity enhancement incentives worth P5,000. These will be released in separate dates before the start of holiday season, Lazatin said.

Over 1,300 City Hall employees are qualified to receive the incentives, the mayor said, citing Memorandum 1380 he issued on Sept. 28.

Job Order employees, on the other hand, will receive a P3,000 yearend gratuity on Dec. 7 this year.

This is apart from all city workers’ tax-free year-end bonus, equivalent to one month basic salary, amounting to a total of P32,542,594, which is set to be released on November 15.

Lazatin earlier directed the City Budget Office, Accounting and the Treasurer Department to compute and prepare the cash incentives for City Hall employees ahead of the Yuletide season.

“Ito po ay bilang kapasalamatan sa dedikasyon at serbisyo ng mga manggagagawang Angeleños sa gitna ng pandemya,” Lazatin said.

“Tuloy-tuloy po ang daloy ng serbisyo dahil sakanilang kapagurang magtrabaho. Hindi ko po kakayanin ang lahat kung hindi dahil sakanila. Thank you very much for your hardwork,” Lazatin added.

“The city government has also enough funds allotted to grant the cash incentives,” he shared.

Flordeliza Santos, president of the Association of Government Employees for a New Dynamic Angeles City (AGENDA), said Lazatin administration manifested best practices in local governance looking into the welfare of the employees amid the health crisis.

“Yung administrasyon po ni Mayor Lazatin patuloy na nagpapahalaga sa kapakanan ng mga empleyado, may pandemya man po o wala,” Santos said.

Santos also said AGENDA will support the programs of Mayor Lazatin in uplifting all employees and Angeleños.

Meanwhile, the grant of year-end bonus is in accordance with Republic Act 6686, as amended by RA 8441, and under the Department of Budget Management Circular No. 2016-4.
