The ability to balance when standing and when walking is a complex skill that many people take for granted. Having a good balance is important in many activities such as walking and climbing stairs. Usually, balancing is something that people do without conscious thought. But for others, particularly senior citizens, balance is a struggle.
It is important to improve a person’s balance as this helps prevent falls, a common occurrence among the elderly.
It is advisable to engage in special exercises that build, promote and maintain a good balance. Learn more about balance in this fitness talk which is free for Sunshine Place members.
