Film and television star Bea Alonzo is embarking on a new chapter in her career starting anew with GMA Network as her new home.
Speaking to Manila Standard Entertainment, the actress admitted that inking a contract with her new network was both a blessing and a dream come true.
“I’m entering a new chapter and it feels so good, I feel very empowered, and to be honest, it came at the right time. It feels good, it feels right," Alonzo enthused.
The award-winning actress revealed that it took her months to reach a decision on this big career move, alluding to the pandemic as one of the reasons.
"This past year has been challenging not only for us but for all of us. And It gave me time to think and reflect on all the things about my life, what I really want to do. What else do I want to chase when it comes to my dreams," the actress added.
The new Kapuso actress also said that she's looking forward to exploring other things like taking on non-acting projects such as hosting her own talk show and doing sitcoms.
"I am ready to chase more dreams, not only with acting, and this time I feel like I want to discover about myself. I would like to explore the idea of probably having a talk show or like appearing on sitcoms," she said.
"I think I am ready to be more open to doing so many different things. I feel like ayun din natutunan ko this pandemic, to take on new possibilities and challenges," Alonzo added.
After being under ABS-CBN for 20 years, Alonzo sealed the deal with the Kapuso network in a contract signing ceremony at EDSA Shangri-La Hotel on July 1.
She is set to headline the Philippine adaptation of the hit Korean film A Moment to Remember with Alden Richards. Apart from this, she will star in an upcoming primetime series on GMA.
“We are pleased that you are now a Kapuso and because you are undoubtedly one of the best actresses of your generation, I am sure that there will be plenty of opportunities for you here in GMA. Your many fans will be thrilled to see the projects that we have lined up for you,” MA Network Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon expressed during Alonzo’s contract signing.
