Anti-narcotics agents seized Wednesday some 68 kilos of dried marijuana with an estimated street value of P8.1 million during a buy bust at Apartment 2B along Look 1st C, Malolos City.
Five suspects were arrested shortly after the buy bust operations, said Christian Frivaldo, director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 3.
He identified the suspects as John Patrick Sigua Milan, 26, alias Wang; Kevin Paul Idanan Jose, 27; Mispa Jal Jamsen, 28; Jayson Cosico Justiniano, 30; and Enrick Luciano Justin, all occupants of the apartment.
Joint elements from PDEA, Bulacan Police Office and Malolos City Police raided the apartment occupied by the suspects after a successful drug bust.
On Tuesday, a female drug trafficker was arrested in Marilao City by PDEA agents. Some 500 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) with an estimated street value of P3.4 million were confiscated from the suspect.
Frivalldo said the drug bust was the biggest haul of marijuana in the Bulacan area since PDEA-3 shifted its operations from Angeles City to nearby areas in Central Luzon.
Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the arrested suspects.
