Lucio Tan in stable condition at hospital

Beer and tobacco tycoon Lucio Tan is in stable condition at a hospital after being infected by COVID-19, according to his daughter.

“He is in stable condition, responding well and recovering. We would like to request from some privacy at this time. Please continue to pray for his speedy recovery,” Vivienne Tan said in an Instagram post Saturday night.

The 86-year old tycoon is one of the country’s top billionaires with estimated wealth of $3.2 billion, according to the latest report of Forbes Asia magazine.

Tan is the founder and chairman of listed conglomerate LT Group Inc. which has interests in tobacco, spirits, banking and property development. He also owns flag carrier Philippine Airlines and MacroAsia. Corp.

Tan studied chemical engineering at Far Eastern University.
