Only 6,069 deaths in anti-drug raids in 8 mos. – PDEA

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency on Monday claimed only 6,069 persons died during anti-drug operations between July 1, 2016 and Feb. 28, 2021.

Its #RealNumbersPH Year 4 report, PDEA said they were able to conduct 193,532 anti-operations with 279,623 arrested persons of the same period.

There were 3,595 children involved in illegal drug activities who were rescued during anti-drug operations, the agency said.

At least 2,070 of them were drug pushers; 918, possessors; one, runner; 405, users; one, clan laboratory employee; two, cultivators; 177, visitors of a drug den; nine, drug den maintainers, and 12, drug den employees.

According to the PDEA, 11,479 high-value targets were arrested.

Some 946 government workers were nabbed, of which 108 of them were uniformed men; 375, elected officials, and 463, government employees.

The PDEA said there were 21,252    drug-cleared barangays and 13,836 barangays that have yet to be cleared.
