Maria Angelica “Angie” de Ramos, incumbent secretary of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines Quezon City Chapter, is calling on all its members who are in good standing to come out and vote for new officers this Saturday.

Lawyer Lennard Constantine “Leng” Serrano joined de Ramos in the list of distinguished members of the IBP who are active and are currently holding elective posts in its QC Chapter.

IBP QC, the biggest in the entire country, said that due to the pandemic, voting options are either in person or via online voting.

However, nominees who will vie for any position must be physically present at the venue to accept the nomination and be eligible to be elected in the position aspired for, as online or electronic acceptance of nominations are not allowed, according to lawyer Maria Andreameda “Maida” Catubay.

Only those who have paid their annual dues for the current year, have no arrears, and are considered in good standing shall be allowed to vote, as the deadline to settle dues have expired, lawyers Alton C. Durban and Frances Mae “Cherryl” Ontalan explained.

QC chapter member Arbie C. Buenaflor is advising IBP members who will be voting in person to come early and avoid congestion. The election proper runs from 8 am until 4 pm at the lobby of the Quezon City Hall, and those who have registered for online voting must likewise send their votes in early.

To ensure order and strict compliance with health protocols, particularly proper social distancing at the site all throughout the process, volunteers will be physically present at the voting site to assist all eligible and participating chapter members. Rey E. Requejo

These volunteers include active Quezon City members Kathleen Stacey “Kasey” Villordon, Marie Cielo “Cielo” Ceñidoza, Cerizar Vicente “Donvic” Torio, Raul Ricardo “Raul” Francisco, and Bantuas “Banjo” Lucman, as well as most of the Chapter’s past presidents, officers, and active members, including officers and members of the QC Trial Lawyers League.
