The Paranaque City government announced on Wednesday it is giving financial assistance to job order employees as Christmas gifts for their hard work, especially during this time of COVID-19 pandemic.

City Treasurer Anthony Pulmano said Mayor Edwin Olivarez has approved the release of P5.6 million both from general and special educations funds for JO employees who “deserve to be awarded”.

Pulmano said job order employees who rendered more than four months of service this year will receive P3,000 cash assistance.

On the other hand, those who rendered less that four months of service will receive P1,500 this week.

Pulmano said the city government has more than P3 billion savings after releasing almost P5 billion to fund different measures and programs in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

He said thousands of medical frontliners, city hall employees also deserve to be awarded for their collective and unceasing participation and contribution to the city government’s continuing efforts toward more responsive delivery of public service for the past nine months.

In September, the local government also gave barangay enforcers 20 percent incentives from the fine paid by violators of health and safety protocols as it rolled out several financial assistance measures that will benefit the frontliners.

Mayor Olivarez has prioritized the granting of incentives to city government workers and other frontliners as they continue to risk their lives and limbs in implementing and enforcing the provisions of COVID 19-related measures to ensure the safety of residents.

The city chief executive reminded residents they “should strictly comply with health protocols to prevent COVID-19 cases from soaring.
