The People Management Association of the Philippines recently held the first virtual PMAP Job Outsourcing and HR Upskilling Summit 2020.
The summit brought together experts to share how people management practices have adjusted and adapted during these challenging times and how employees can remain employable amid uncertainties and disruptions brought about by the global pandemic.
Haidee Cabanag Enriquez, chief people officer of Sitel PH-ANZ and president of the People Management Association of the Philippines-Palawan Chapter, joined HR experts and professionals for the first virtual PMAP Job Outsourcing and HR Upskilling Summit 2020.
Enriquez opened the session by highlighting the continuing growth and employment prospects in the IT and business process management sector, citing a report by a leading online job board that more than 40 percent of the job openings available in the Philippines were in the IT-BPM sector.
She noted the industry’s shift from traditional jobs involving simple, entry-level, process-driven tasks to mid and high-skilled jobs requiring experience, abstract thinking, situational responses and autonomy.
