City of San Fernando—The annual exhibition of locally-made products from different participating localities in Central Luzon would be different this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, organizers of Likha ng Central Luzon announced as they geared for a virtual trade exposition slated on Oct 13-17.
Department of Trade and Industry regional director Judith Angeles said the yearly activity is far different from the traditional exposition as participants and buyers have to go online for them to appreciate wide array of high quality products for local consumption and even for export.
“LCL will continue through an easily accessible online platform that will allow buyers to see the best products of the region. We organized the virtual trade exposition to promote and sell the quality products of Central Luzon micro small and medium enterprises (MSMEs),” Angeles explained.
Touted as the biggest exhibition of locally made products including foods, household items and housewares, jewelry, supplement, LCL is now on it 22nd successful years. Products of about 100 MSMEs will be viewed and sold at http://www.virtualtradeexpoph.com/expo/6/show.
“Sellers from Aurora are expected to showcase their well-known bamboo, driftwood and sabutan products while Bataan MSMEs will sell their housewares, marine products and cashew delicacies. Bulacan will again showcase their world class handmade jewelries, turmeric products, bags and sauces,” said Angeles.
“Entrepreneurs from Nueva Ecija will showcase their barongs, footwear, dairy and mushroom products to the fair. Pampanga participants will sell their famous lanterns, homemade nuts and delicacies while Tarlac will showcase their pottery, home décor and potato wine. The best of Zambales’ products such as cashew, bignay wine, sweets and chicharon will also be on display,” she added.
LCL is the major regional promotion activity held annually since 1999. It serves as the culmination of a package of industry and trade related programs given to MSMEs such as training programs/seminars, business consulting, design and labeling, and product development.
These activities aim to develop the technical capabilities of the micro and small enterprises and eventually, help them gain more market exposure and enable them to earn more.
LCL Virtual Trade Expo 2020 is organized by DTI 3 in partnership with the PLDT Kaasenso Project with the support of the Philexport-3, the Regional Development Council-3, Central Luzon Growth Corridor Foundation, Inc. and the Bureau of Small and Medium Enterprises Development.
