"This event was organized by FEU Chess Team, Edmonton and Toronto Filipino chess players to promote online chess tournaments and camaraderie among players from different parts of the globe." said Guevarra.

Reyes siblings Candidate Master Neil Chester Reyes (33) and Fide Master Arden Reyes (30) carried the good fight for the Philippine Christian University-Toronto.

Jerome Villanueva contributed 24 points while AGM Marlon Bernardino tallied 12 points.

National Master Leon Marohom and Team Captain Jelvis Calvelo notched 11 points apiece while Jess Calabia got 6 points and followed by Genghis Imperial with 5 points.

Meanwhile, Arena Grandmaster (AGM) and Fide Master (FM) Robert Suelo, a consistent winner of the Singapore chess circuit, stamped his class again by dominating the F1 Chess Challenge Arena online tournament last Saturday.

Suelo a former varsity player of the Rizal Technological University (RTU), tallied Arena 38 points to rule the online five-minute blitz tournament at lichess.org.

Arena Grandmaster (AGM) Marlon Bernardino, another ex-varsity player of RTU, notch 35 points to take the second place honors.

But the biggest revelation in the one-day event was the 11-year-old Ivan Cu who stood up against his older opposition.

Cu, the 2019 Singapore National Age-group first runner-up, took the third place honors who totes 28 points while journeyman Noel Jay Estacio from Iloilo province, placed fourth overall with 26 markers.
