Clark Freeport—Plans and design for the construction of new hospital building in this freeport have been readied following the signing of a deed of usufruct between Bases Conversion and Development Corporation, Clark Development Corporation and the Pampanga provincial government Monday.
This, after the CDC Board approved the use of 5,000 square-meter lot at the prime area within the freeport zone intended for the construction of a hospital that will cater to the medical needs of Clark workers and tenants.
The project was conceptualized by Vice Governor Lilia Pineda during her term as governor of the province.
BCDA president & CEO Vince Dizon said some P100 million was allocated for the construction of the Diosdado Macapagal Memorial Hospital Annex through the Bayanihan Act 2.
The provincial government of Pampanga also shared P100 million as its counterpart and another P30 million from Mabalacat City local government unit. The total project cost is P230 million.
The CDC board earlier approved the use of the freeport property intended for hospital project for 25 years and would be extended for another 25 years.
Governor Pineda said his mother Lilia conceptualized the hospital project annex project in 2019 and requested the CDC to allocate a piece of land for the provincial government’s future use.
The DPMMPH Annex shall provide basic and affordable medical services mainly to Clark employees who are mostly from Pampanga.
Vice Gov. Pineda said the DPMMPH Annex was the first government hospital in Clark.
She said the working force of Clark numbering to 140,000 will be benefited with this medical facility project.
“We must have a healthy workforce to make our families happy, our communities at peace and our economy productive,” Pineda said.
