Ten people, including five soldiers, were killed while at least 40 were wounded in two consecutive explosions in Jolo on Monday.
According to Senator Richard Gordon, a motorcycle strapped with an improvised explosive device exploded near a military truck. The explosion happened near the office of the Philippine Red Cross, which Gordon heads.
A second bomb exploded as government troops were cordoning off the area.
No one has claimed responsibility yet for the attacks.
