Landers Arcovia City in Barangay Ugong, Pasig City was allowed to resume operations days earlier than the initially imposed 7-day suspension by the local government of Pasig City.
The suspension covered the supermarket operations only in respect to the social distancing policies imposed by the government.
In a letter dated July 24 addressed to the management of Landers Superstore, the Office of the City Administrator of Pasig acknowledged the action plan submitted by Landers to the city government.
The city government immediately acted to recognize the protocols and safety measures that are in accordance to its General and Work Guidelines which allowed the stores to open after only two days.
Landers has now further improved the store policies to ensure the safety of its members.
This swift action was established through its careful consultation with stakeholders and health and safety experts and now becomes a new standard in all of its retail branches.
“The safety and protection of our shoppers has always been our top priority. We have been implementing specific preventive safety measures from the beginning of this pandemic that has been a standard reference to retailers in the industry.
“The action plan we are rolling out today was further adjusted to the behavior and predisposition of our customers. We are happy with the changes that we are implementing and hope that our members will appreciate and comply with, and other retailers to adopt in order for all of us to collectively beat this pandemic,” said Landers Superstore president Gwen Lourdes G. Lim.
Among the additional protocols for safety that will be implemented in the Landers store are hourly reminders in store for social distancing, a store traffic management plan, additional directional signs in every aisle, among all other health and safety protocols required before members enter the shop premises.
Landers Arcovia City has resumed operations last July 24 and is open every day from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The improved health and safety protocols will likewise be implemented in all Landers branches in Metro Manila and Cebu.
