BOC destroys smuggled Peking duck, meats

The Bureau of Customs destroyed seized smuggled Peking Duck, meat and meat products, fish products ana assorted Chinese condiments believed contaminated which were found in a warehouse in Bgy. Anunas, Angeles city, Pampanga.

The BOC said the condemned goods include 1,226 cartons of Peking Duck; several boxes of meat products such as Chicken Feet, Hotdog and nuggets; fish and seafood products including Espada, Baby lobster, Crab sticks and octopus tentacles; and various Chinese condiments which were illegally imported.

In a statement, the BOC confiscated the goods after the warehouse representative failed to provide proof of payment of duties and taxes on the subject goods in violation of importing meat and other products without proper permits from concerned government agencies.

The condemnation was witnessed by National Meat Inspection Service Director Orlando Ongsolo, Angeles City Veterinarian’s Office Head Dr. Allan Gamueda, representatives from Bureau of Animal Industry, AOCG, CIIS and ESS.
