Making local newscasts available to more viewers nationwide, GMA Regional TV Weekend News originally aired at 5:00 p.m. on GMA News TV. Following the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine, the newscast temporarily moved to GMA-7 from March 21 to April 25.

As the program ushers in Season 3 of its broadcast this evening, GMA's only English newscast is now part of the news channel’s Saturday primetime line-up.

“GMA Regional TV Weekend News continues to bring Kapuso viewers in the different Philippine regions, including the National Capital Region, all the freshest news and developments in key cities and provinces all over the Philippines,” says GMA Regional TV vice president and head Oliver Amoroso.
