Alsons Power Group has distributed 750 relief packs and sacks of rice to residents and frontliners in five key barangays in Zamboanga City as the country continues to battle the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Personnel from Alsons Power Group’s Western Mindanao Power Corporation diesel power plant and staff from the project team of Alsons Power’s prospective San Ramon Power, Inc. baseload coal-fired power plant in Zamboanga City led the distribution of the relief goods.
Beneficiaries included habal-habal drivers, fishermen, persons with disability and senior citizens.
Alsons Power Group, Mindanao’s first private-sector power generator, is engaged in efforts to ensure that residents and frontliners in its host communities have access to food and other essentials.
The group currently has a portfolio of four power facilities located in Iligan City, Sarangani Province and Zamboanga City, providing electricity to over eight million Filipinos in 14 cities and 11 provinces.
