Asterisk Artist Management head Kristian G. Kabigting explains the story behind the name of his agency that manages fresh faces and up-and-coming artists.
The talent manager says that he was trying to think of an image or a character similar to a star.
“We were brainstorming, and we couldn’t find any character that’s similar to a star except for an asterisk. We’re a very new talent management agency, but we’re aggressive in terms of our effort to make our talents succeed in the business,” Kabigting stresses.
This year, Asterisk plans to produce concerts and fan meetings of international artists. Its first offering is the second fan meeting of Thai actors Off Tumcial and Gun Atthapan happening sometime after the lockdown when situation around the region gets better.
The agency, with its digital head Nicole Din, is focusing on creating digital content. And with Asterisk DTV head Ma. Theresa Clift, the agency has secured a total of five television series lined-up to be aired on TV5.
“Our main thrust is to give chance to all aspiring actors and performers. We want to help them realize their dreams,” Kabigting adds.
This year, Asterisk Artist Management signed up 30 exclusive artists. Let’s meet some of them:
Axel Torres
A former Pinoy Big Brother All In housemate, Axel has done several films and TV shows after his PBB stint. Among the projects that he was part of were Oh My G!, Banana Sundae, La Luna Sangre, Finally Found Someone, Vince and Kath and James, Wansapanataym, lpaglaban Mo, MMK, and The Break Up Playlist.
Enzo Santiago
His first acting experienced was in the LGBTQ themed web series entitled, Young Love. This 19-year-old newbie has snatched the lead in two TV series on TV5, My Extra-Ordinary and A Kiss To Remember.
Kamille Filoteo
She was part of Pinoy Big Brother 737 Teen Edition. A former member of It’s Showtime’s Girl Trend, Kamille is co-managed by Viva Artist Agency and Asterisk Artist Management. She is set to star in two TV series on TV5, My Extra-Ordinary and Boys Next Door.
Nico Nicolas
A Regal Baby, he has starred in numerous films such as Love You To Death, Walwal, My Rebound Girl, Our Mighty Yaya, and Ang Sikreto ng Piso. This year, this Mr. Pogi winner is joining his fellow Asterisk artists in Boys Next Door.
Hillary Tan
She has done several TV series, movies, and commercials. Some of her unforgettable acting experiences are in Kapamilya shows Be Careful With My Heart, We Will Survive and Since I Found You. This year, Hillary will be part of the TV series, Boys Next Door and an online show, The Eat Girls on Asterisk Digital TV YouTube channel.
Completing its roster of talents are Z Mejia, Darwin Yu, Miguel Diokno, Christine Lim, Sam Cafranca, Hillary Tan, Nina Flores, Carl Saliente, Karissa Toliongco, Ronan Bearis, Ayumi Takezawa, Princess Manaloto, and Hannah Balahadia.
