Immigration agents arrested an Iranian and Myanmar nationals for overstaying and undesirable aliens in separate operations in Laguna and Batangas.

The Burmese citizen was identified as John Simon, while the Iranian, Arazil Saeid 25, were arrested in Sta. Rosa and Lipa cities in Laguna and Batangas, respectively.

“Simon was arrested in his residence through the assistance of the Sta. Rosa City Police, which resulted in a joint operation against the subject,” Bureau of Immigration-Intelligence Division Chief Fortunato Manahan Jr. said, adding that “upon verification of his travel documents, it was confirmed that he arrived in the country in 2012 and been overstaying since 2016, which is a deportable offense.”

Immigration records said Arazil misrepresented in his application for a temporary residence and was ordered deported last August 2018.

“Arazil is facing deportation for violation of the Philippine Immigration Act of 1940 for misrepresentation, and has been tagged as an undesirable alien. The Commissioner ordered that he be located and arrested, to be able to implement the deportation,” he said.

The two are currently detained at the BI Warden Facility pending deportation.

BI Commissioner Jaime Morente again warned illegal aliens hiding in the country. “Let these arrests serve as a warning to foreign nationals who blatantly disregard our laws. Comply, or face deportation,” he said.
