Police nab 5, seize P3.4 million worth of shabu

Police arrested five individuals and seized P3.4 million worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation in Pasay City on Tuesday.

Arrested were Erwin Peredo, 29, alyas “Kiko”; Jairabelle Arandia, 24, alyas “Madam”; Domingo Maglague, 46, alyas “Biboy”; Carolina Perido, 50, and Jericson Arandia, 20. They are now detained at the Pasay City Police Station 4.

The authorities arrested the suspects at AMS Apartment along Santos Street in Barangay 166 in Malibay, Pasay around 5:30 p.m.

Police Captain Deni Mari Pedrozo of Pasay City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit said his men conducted the buy-bust operation in close coordination with the Quezon City police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Pedrozo said the entrapment was initially planned in Ortigas, Quezon City but the suspects later agreed to change location resulting in their arrest in Barangay Malibay in Pasay.

Police seized from the suspects at least 500 grams of shabu with a street value of P3.4 million, the buy-bust money used in the police operation, four mobile phones, assorted bags, and drug paraphernalia.

The suspects will be charged with violation of Sections 5, 11, 12 and 26 Article II of the Dangerous Drugs Act, Obstruction of Justice and Resisting Arrest before the Pasay City prosecutors office.

The latest operation, according Southern Police District acting director Col. Emmanuel Peralta, is part of the continuing crackdown on drug dealing in Metro Manila.
