The massive fire that occurred Saturday in Pandacan, Manila did not originate from the construction yard of D.M. Consunji Inc.
D.M. Consunji said in a statement videos taken by various netizens clearly showed the fire started outside of the company’s work area.
It cited a report of the Bureau of Fire Protection saying the fire broke out at around 10:38 a.m., or more than 30 minutes before the warehouse inside the company’s construction yard caught fire at around 11:15 a.m.
D.M. Consunji said it would cooperate with any investigation to determine the real cause of the fire.
San Miguel Corp. earlier said its initial investigation showed the fire was a freak accident that could have likely started from the DMCI construction yard and eventually spread to its nearby plastics warehouse, which at that time was being relocated out of Pandacan.
The relocation is part of the company’s efforts to clear its properties in Pandacan, in consideration of Skyway and future projects.
