Marcos names new water admin head

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed lawyer Jose Moises Salonga as the new head of the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) which took effect on Feb. 19.

Salonga took over the reins from Homer Revil, who was named the acting LWUA chief in February 2023.

Salonga studied at Ateneo de Manila University, earning an Economics degree in 1999 and a law degree in 2003. He later completed a Master’s in Public Safety Administration at the Philippine Public Safety College in 2017.

His career spans diverse sectors, having served in roles within the Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force of the Philippine National Police, National Power Corp., Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP), First Farmers’ Rural Bank of Batangas, Inc., Philippine Associated Smelting and Refining Corp., Office of the Executive Secretary, and PNOC Renewables Corp.

He has also contributed his expertise to organizations including First Cabanatuan Renewable Ventures Inc., Emergence Management and Consulting Corp., and the local government of Quezon City.
