Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) chief Persida Rueda Acosta today celebrated her 23 years of public service at PAO.

Acosta also received special recognition from the Global Trends Business Leaders Awards 2024 on Feb. 20.

She received the award for her “remarkable achievement and commitment to the local legal industry” at the Okada, Manila.

“Just last Feb. 19, I had celebrated my 23 years at PAO. I was appointed by then President Gloria Arroyo to be the PAO chief in 2001. That was 23 years ago,” she said during her acceptance speech.

“However, my assumption into office was Feb. 23, 2001,” she added.

Despite her status in life, she said she has remained grounded.

“You may call me Acosta or Persing, and not call me as “Atty.” or “Dr. Acosta” (That does not matter). Time will come that I will be six feet under the ground,” she noted.

She said all she is asking for is to always pray for her.
