President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. waxed optimistic Saturday as he greeted the Filipino-Chinese community and the rest of the nation this Chinese New Year. He said he is looking forward to the Year of the Dragon, which “brings endless possibilities.”
“This occasion brims with infinite opportunities as we gather to pay homage to the heritage of the dragon, a timeless symbol of power, wisdom, and courage,” the Chief Executive said in a statement released by the Presidential Communications Office (PCO).
“Let us reflect on our accomplishments in the past year, cherishing the triumphs that elevated our spirits and nourished our souls. Let these victories enkindle our enthusiasm and optimism as uplift our communities and steer our nation to greater heights,” he added.
Mr. Marcos also noted that while good fortune awaits us, it is important to remember that “it is only through our firm commitment and resolve that we can transform our dreams into reality.”
“As one diverse yet united community, may we immerse ourselves in the richness of our cultural identity and lay the groundwork for a more peaceful, harmonious, and progressive Philippines. I wish everyone an auspicious and bountiful Chinese New Year,” the President said.
According to Chinese belief, the Year of the Dragon epitomizes authority, potency, and imperial influence over all aspects.
