Edam Entertainment shared on Sunday a sneak peek into Korean singer and actress IU’s newest album, “The Winning”, which will be released on Feb. 20.
The Korean idol’s sixth mini-album’s tracklist features “Shopper” and “Spore” as double lead tracks, with “Shh..”, “Love Wins All”, and “I Stan U” rounding out the album. But IU’s involvement goes beyond songwriting.
In a press release, the agency said that the singer-actor penned the lyrics for all five songs on her upcoming album.
“IU put much effort into crafting this album for a long period, not only writing the songs but also overseeing every detail as a producer,” it stated.
Moreover, not only did she write every song, but she also took on the producer role, overseeing every detail. IU’s involvement in “The Winning” heightened anticipation for the release.
IU’s creative control also extended beyond lyrics. She co-composed “Spore,” one of the lead tracks. Additionally, NewJeans member Hyein and Cho Won-sun of Roller Coaster lend their voices to the track “Shh..”
The singer’s “The Winning” promised a deeply personal and meticulously crafted experience from IU herself.
