Senator Imee Marcos on Wednesday declared she has no ill-feelings towards her cousin Speaker Martin Romualdez.

“I am not  angry at him. No anger towards him. It’s not personal.

There’s no such thing!” Marcos said, adding it has nothing to do with their family.

Marcos and Romualdez  have engaged in a “word war” following  their contrasting hard-line stance over people’s initiative movement toward Charter change (Cha-cha).

In a media briefing, Marcos pointed out that the row between the Speaker and the President involved those who are out to destroy the administration which carries the name of the Marcos family.

“All I want is to correct them. I don’t want a fight with anybody….I’m not quarrelsome, and rude….I don’t like their gas lighting on all of us,” the senator stressed.

Responding to Romualdez pronouncement that he is open to a discussion with her, Marcos said the Speaker should end first his push for people’s initiative.

Pressed on her stand if she’s with the Dutertes or the Marcoses, the senator retorted; “Why should I be required to make a choice? I love them all. I just do not want (someone) destroying our name,” she  reiterated.

According to Marcos, they had fought a tough battle for 35 years after the 1986 EDSA Revolution.

The bloodless revolution toppled the 20-year strong-armed rule of her father, the late President Ferdinand Marcos Sr.

“I have gone places. It was really  very difficult for our family,” related the senator.

Marcos said she will not tolerate anybody destroying this second chance for the Marcos family, which she considers a “blessing from Heaven.”

She also admitted the cracks on the Marcos- Duterte UniTeam, but believes Vice President Sara Duterte will not quit her post as Department of Education secretary since “she loved her job.”

She also asserted that the relationships among the principals of the UniTeam still remains good.
