Aims to lower incidents of scams, identity theft in city before end-2024

The Northern District Anti-Cybercrime Team (NDACT) in Caloocan vowed to improve operations against cybercrimes in the city as it finished 2023 resolving a total of 574 out of more than 600 recorded incidents, including various online selling scams, phishing, and identity theft, while other cases are still pending resolution.

Aside from the investigative operations, the NDACT likewise conducted entrapment and arrest operations against 18 individuals and duly charged them with the corresponding violations of various crimes, in relation to Republic Act 10175, better known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act.

City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan praised the NDACT for its achievements in the past year, especially with the onslaught of various digital schemes to take advantage of people in cyberspace, and called on his constituents to be ever-vigilant with the people and other entities that they transact with online.
