Clark International Airport (CRK) said Wednesday it handled nearly two million passengers in 2023, up 156 percent from a year ago.
“We are both thrilled and affirmed by what we’ve achieved this year. The substantial increase in passenger numbers, surpassing both industry forecasts and previous year’s performance, is a testament to the hard work of our dedicated team and the attractiveness of our airport,” said Noel Manankil, president and chief executive of Luzon International Premiere Airport Development Corp. (LIPAD), operator of CRK, said.
The airport facilitated 14,892 flights and ended the year with 11 international and 10 domestic destinations last year.
Manankil said LIPAD is commitment to further improvements in 2024.
“As we move forward, we vow to build on this success and explore new avenues for enhancement. Our goal is to exceed customer expectations, and we are excited about the opportunities that the coming year holds for Clark International Airport,” Manankil said.
“This growth not only indicates a robust recovery for Clark International Airport and the Central and Northern Luzon regions, but also reflects a positive trend in the broader aviation sector,” he said. CRK is an alternative gateway which can serve as many as 8 million passengers annually. It services ten domestic flights including Caticlan (Boracay), Puerto Princesa and Busuanga, Davao, Cebu and Cagayan de Oro, with eleven international routes such as Dubai, Doha, Incheon, Hongkong, Bangkok and Singapore.
