Axelum Resources Corp., a fully-integrated manufacturer and exporter of coconut products, opened a 100-bed hospital in Northern Mindanao.

Axelum said in a disclosure to the stock exchange Wednesday it launched San Isidro Polymedic General Hospital, the first secondary-level hospital in Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental.

The state-of-the-art medical center offers a comprehensive suite of services including hemodialysis, emergency room, intensive care, extended laboratory and diagnostics, radiology, surgery, delivery room, neonatal, outpatient clinics, pharmacy and other essential amenities.

The project is in partnership with the Cagayan de Oro Polymedic Medical Group owned by Dr. Ruben and Dr. Josephine Go.  It is manned by a diverse roster of doctors, nurses and experienced medical support staff.

“At Axelum, our overarching goal is to combat poverty through livelihood, education, and now through healthcare. We believe that every Filipino deserves access to quality medical services and modern facilities. With the opening of this new hospital, we aim to provide professional healthcare to the local communities and indigenous people of Northern Mindanao,” said Romeo Chan, chairman and chief executive of Axelum.

San Isidro Polymedic General Hospital is targeting to serve a population of more than 350,000 local residents, with long-term aspirations to become a premier end-referral hospital in the region.

Moving forward, the hospital planned initiatives to expand into highly-specialized treatments and services.
