President Marcos on Monday extended his wishes for a prosperous 2024 to all Filipinos, emphasizing his commitment “to build better and more” in the coming year while reflecting on the significant achievements of 2023.

“As friends and family gather, our family joins yours in welcoming a peaceful and prosperous New Year,” President Marcos said in his New Year’s message.

Reflecting on the accomplishments of the past year, the President expressed satisfaction with the progress made and expressed the administration’s determination to strive for greater achievements in the year ahead.

“We look back to the past year pleased with what we have done. We look forward to the new year with the pledge to build better and more. We have set high hopes for the days ahead and we know that these can only be achieved with hard work,” the President said.

Mr. Marcos highlighted the hard-earned gains of 2023, asserting that these accomplishments have prepared the Filipino people and the nation to face any challenges that may arise in 2024.

Providing a glimpse into the administration’s initiatives, the President announced the establishment of 33 additional specialty centers, the construction of over 2,000 classrooms, and the development of seven new cold chain facilities.

He also underscored the administration’s success in attracting investments in renewable energy, citing the award of contracts with a total potential capacity of about 121,000 megawatts.

In mitigating the possible impact of El Niño, President Marcos said eight water supply projects were completed in the previous year, with an additional 147 projects slated for implementation in 2024.

Committing to efficient public services, the President pledged to streamline government processes and eliminate rules hindering the timely delivery of services. He emphasized the importance of avoiding delays in projects, as they impede progress and development.

President Marcos reaffirmed the administration’s dedication to assisting the public with various government programs.

He also stressed the significance of supporting Filipino workers and farmers, ensuring they receive the necessary resources to thrive in their respective fields.

Concluding his message, Mr. Marcos shared the government’s New Year’s Resolution, vowing to continue delivering quality service to the Filipino people.

President Marcos thanked the public for their continued trust and confidence in the administration and the government.

A day earlier, the President enjoined Filipinos to embody the spirit of solidarity and contribute to development as he joined the nation in welcoming the new year.

Every new beginning is a time for reflection on past accomplishments, to move forward with the lessons learned, and to reinforce the unity forged as a people, the President said.

“As a nation, we bid farewell to the challenges and triumphs of the past year and embrace a new dawn of opportunity and hope that heralds another fresh start for all,” he said in a message released Sunday.

“As we welcome 2024 with great optimism, I call upon every Filipino from every corner of the world to contribute to the future of our beloved motherland. Let us embody the spirit of solidarity through acts of kindness, volunteerism, and compassion, knowing that each of us is a catalyst for our country’s meaningful social transformation.”
