The Municipality of Larena has again received a Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) National Awardee for its second consecutive year.
This prestigious recognition, bestowed by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), is a testament to the unwavering commitment of the Larena local government unit (LGU) to upholding the highest standards of governance and service to its community.
The SGLG National Awarding Ceremony was held on Dec. 14, 2023, at The Manila Hotel. Mayor Cyrus Vincent Marchan Calibo proudly received the plaque of recognition and cash incentive from DILG Philippines Secretary Benjamin Abalos, alongside Siquijor Provincial Director Dennis S. Quinones, Cluster Head/SGLG Provincial Focal Person Jill Abella Bao, and MLGOO Jessie Mary Buctolan.
This remarkable achievement became possible through the tireless efforts between local officials and employees of LGU Larena, encompassing all 23 barangays.
Larena’s success in achieving the SGLG award for two consecutive years demonstrates that any town can achieve great things with dedication, collaboration, and an unwavering commitment to serving the community.
