TAGUIG City officials led by Mayor Laarni Cayetano are thankful to Senator Jinggoy Estrada for allocating P10 million for residents suffering from cancer and those in need of surgery or therapy.
Some 1,300 patients in the city received cash assistance during the distribution ceremony held at Dueñas Gymnasium in Barangay Central Signal Village on Wednesday.
“Senator Jinggoy allocated P10 million for his outreach program in the city. Let us pray that the Lord will guide him in his service in the Senate. His office helped too many people, including the people of Taguig,” Cayetano said.
Estrada gave assurance that his office would continue providing financial support to Taguig.
“This is not the first time I have come here. There will be more next year. While Mayor Lani is the head of the city, I will give support to Taguig every year,” he said.
More than 1,500 members of the Barangay Security Force (BSF) or Barangay Tanods from Districts 1 and 2 also received cash assistance as a gesture of gratitude and recognition for their tireless efforts to keep the communities safe.
Meanwhile, the local government paid tribute to retiring public servants from various departments in city hall.
Organized by the Human Resources Management Office, the annual event aims to recognize the achievements, dedication, and service of employees who have served Taguig and its constituents throughout their tenure.
Mayor Cayetano extended her appreciation to the 81 awardees for their invaluable contributions, emphasizing their pivotal role in city-building.
“You are an integral part of my administration. I’ve been serving the city since 2010. I’ve been serving for more than a decade and I can say that I wouldn’t have been able to do all the things that are complimented in our city without the help of enthusiastic staff like you,” she said.
