President Marcos on Tuesday called for the eradication of prejudice and discrimination against women in Philippine society, as he officiated the oath of office to the newly elected National Executive Board and Regional Presidents of the Lady Local Legislators League of the Philippines or 4L.

‘’The ones that are really always steady in the work of supporting our families, our communities, our children, the women are always there and they form a bedrock,’’ Mr. Marcos said in his speech.

‘’We all hold our mothers, our sisters, our grandmothers, our aunts in high regard in a sense that we basically our formed by the women in our culture. That applies in the government as well,’’ he added.

The President encouraged the legislators to pass legislative measures that will improve and enhance the role of women in the society.

‘’Most importantly, create a conducive nurturing environment for women and for girls to participate freely and equally in our social and economic spheres. Maybe this is where we’re lacking in giving opportunities to young girls, to women,’’ he said.
