Imee urges youth to get involved in decision-making of government

Baguio City—Senator Imee Marcos calls on the youth to actively participate= in the decision-making processes even at the national level.

Marcos made the call in her remarks at the opening of the National Youth Convention being held at the Philippine Military Academy complex here.

The senator also administered the oath to Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) national and regional representatives, namely. Carol Julianne Dalipe of Zamboanga City, Angelica Alcala of Lucena City, Edmundo Tolentino Jr. of Aklan, and Vincent Figueroa of South Cotabato.

National Youth Commission (NYC) chairman Gian Carlo Cardema was also present during the oath-taking.

Some 1,000 SK provincial chapter presidents were expected here for the Dec. 7-10 National Youth Convention spearheaded by the NYC 2023 spearheaded by the NYC.

The NYC was mandated to review and formulate policies on the youth promotion and development programs. It is also tasked to establish a consultative mechanism for dialogue with the youth, and set up linkages with government and non-government organizations at the national and international levels.
