Spotify unveils PH’s most streamed artists in 2023

OPM artists Zack Tabudlo, Moira Dela Torre, and Ben&Ben have proven once again their dominance in the Philippine music scene, emerging as the most streamed OPM male artist, female artist, and group, respectively, on Spotify Wrapped 2023, according to Chart Data PH.

It’s a back-to-back win for Zack as he remained as Spotify Philippines’ number one male artist for two consecutive years in the country gaining 479.4 million streams and 29.7 million listeners in 184 countries.

In an Instagram post, the “Binibini” singer expressed his gratitude towards those who kept supporting him and his music.

“I never stopped because of the family and friends I had behind all of this that believed in me. what a blessing. Thank you all so much for showing love to the music I’ve been creating despite of the craziness that’s been happening for the past [two] years,” wrote Zack.

“Being #1 Male Artist in the Philippines for [two] years straight is something that never ever crossed my mind. But, you, beautiful people made all of this possible. I will never ever take this for granted. You are the reason why I’m here. Thank you, thank you, thank you so much to every single one of you. All of my love to the fans and cheers to more music. ily 4 ever,” he added.

Meanwhile, singer-songwriter Moira Dela Torre continued her streak as the most streamed female artist in the Philippines for seven consecutive years.

On the other hand, folk-pop band Ben&Ben emerged not just as the most streamed OPM group but also was named as Spotify Philippines’ most streamed local artist for the year 2023 with 371 million streams and 15 million listeners in 184 countries.

The nine-member group also took to its social media to thank its fans for their unwavering support.

“Thank you for bringing us to #1 this year. This hits deep because we realized that somehow, we’ve become a constant part of each other’s lives through these songs that connect us. You brought us here. No words can express the depth of how much we treasure you, Liwanag. Iba kayo magmahal. LABYU!” it stated.

With its victory, Ben&Ben promised to continue doing its hardest in creating music.

“We’ll keep on working our hardest to serve you through the music we make and the stuff we create. Let’s make our dreams happen together and keep carrying on, with courage. This is for all of us,” it ended.

As for the top OPM songs in the country, local rock band Sunkissed Lola’s “Pasilyo” was named Spotify Wrapped 2023’s most streamed OPM song, followed by Dilaw’s ‘‘Uhaw’’ in second place.

Adie and Janine Berdin’s “Mahika” placed third while OPM band Calein’s “Umaasa” and Lola Amour’s “Raining in Manila” emerged as the fourth and fifth top songs in the Philippines.
