Michelle Marquez Dee making waves in El Salvador

Local and international pageant fans are closely following the much-awaited 72nd Miss Universe featuring the stunning Philippine delegate Michelle Marquez Dee.

Dee, sporting a bob haircut, has been turning heads since setting foot in El Salvador. She was in the Top 5 list of arrival favorites and ranked No. 2 on Day 2, impressing even Latin pageant experts. Additionally, she is performing exceptionally being a silver finalist in the ‘Voice for Change’ category and the Fan Vote, which could earn her an automatic spot in the semifinals.

Dee, who possesses the qualities to win a world title like her mother Melanie Marquez (Miss International 1979) and cousin Winwyn Marquez (Reina Hispanoamericana 2017), was accompanied by MUPH creative director Jonas Gaffud.

“I am so excited. All the girls here are amazing. I can’t wait to take you all along on my journey,” the 28-year-old Dee posted in a message.

‘Voice for Change’ provides an avenue for Miss Universe contestants to share their personal advocacies through a three-minute video and encourage viewers to join them in fulfilling their causes. Dee’s ‘Voice for Change’ entry focuses on her autism awareness advocacy, inclusivity, and women’s empowerment.

Shamcey Supsup-Lee, the national director of the Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH) organization, urged Filipino fans to continue casting their ‘Voice for Change’ votes on the CI Talks website and to make Michelle No. 1 in the Fan Vote.

The 72nd Miss Universe, featuring 90 candidates from around the world, will have its finals tomorrow, November 19.
