Uy said he expects the Tech City to attract the largest IT companies in the world and the best ICT talent in the country.

“The Tech City will host the largest data center in the region, corporate headquarters, housing facilities and an events area. We hope that leading tech companies can make the Tech City its home in the Philippines,” said Uy.

Uy advised Pampanga businesses to look at digitalization to boost their growth, especially as the company’s young and modern fiber network has long been established in Central Luzon.

He highlighted the benefits of digitalization and the availability of infrastructure in the region.

“It is estimated that digital technologies have the potential to create an annual economic value of P5 trillion or $101.3 billion. But what’s important to note here is the fact that in order to achieve all these, we must have the correct infrastructure in place,” said Uy.

The network of Converge now has a 670,000-kilometer fiber backbone. As of end-June 2023, the fiber broadband provider’s network infrastructure passed over 16.6 million Filipino homes, equivalent to 62.3 percent of household coverage nationwide.

The company said with this extensive network that spans nationwide, it leveraged its fiber technology to serve the sectors of education, government, healthcare, financial services and entertainment.

“The President mandates that 95 percent of government services should be digital. There’s so much opportunity for e-services, and the likes of the Bureau of Immigration can benefit from this. There could be an electronic court system also in the judiciary,” Uy said.
