The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), in coordination with the City Government of Caloocan, distributed livelihood packages anew to qualified residents on Wednesday, October 4 at the Bulwagang Katipunan.
This time, a total of ten livelihood enhancement packages were provided to previous recipients of the program, including six high-speed sewing machines, two bigasan packages, and one each of ihaw-ihaw and karinderya provisions.
City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan once again expressed his gratitude towards the partnership of the city government and national agencies to provide only the best service to his constituents. He also encouraged the recipients to utilize their new livelihood packages to strengthen their businesses and create a stable source of income.
“Nagiging incentive itong enhancement package para sa mga mga kababayan nating nagsisikap na palaguin pa ang binigay nating paunang livelihood package. Ipagpatuloy niyo lang po ito at tinitiyak ko na narito lagi ang pamahalaang lungsod upang tulungan kayong palakihin ang inyong mga negosyo,” the Mayor said.
“Muli po tayong nagpapasalamat sa pagtutulungan ng ating pamahalaang lungsod sa pamamagitan ng Public Employment Service Office (PESO) at ng mga national agencies kagaya ng DOLE upang magbigay ng de-kalidad at angkop na tulong sa ating mga kababayan,” he added.
The City Mayor likewise pointed out that the livelihood enhancement distribution is a part of his ongoing commitment to create long-term and empowering programs, especially in the fields of livelihood, employment, and economic development.
“Sa pagbibigay po natin ng kabuhayan at trabaho, binibigyan natin ng oportunidad ang ating mga mamamayan na magkaroon ng sarili nilang pagkukunan ng kikitain araw-araw. Alam ko po na hindi na sasapat ngayon kung isahang bagsak lang ang tulong natin, kaya nagsisikap tayo na tuloy-tuloy at pangmatagalan ang epekto ng ating mga programa para sa mga Batang Kankaloo,” Mayor Along stated.
