A remodeled and modernized primary care facility in the municipality of San Fernando, Cebu was recently handed over by SM Foundation to the local government unit headed by Mayor Mytha Canoy.
During the turnover ceremony, Canoy conveyed the municipality’s gratitude to SM for the modern healthcare and wellness facility, equipped to provide quality medical services to local residents.
“We are proud to have SM Foundation as a partner in our mission to enhance the lives of our constituents,” she said.
SM Foundation’s initiative involved a comprehensive overhaul and providing the facility with new medical tools and equipment to directly address the health needs of the community and ensure access to essential health care needed.
With its improvement, the facility is now re-accredited by PhilHealth.
Sustainable solutions were also integrated in the physical infrastructure such as the installation of a rainwater catchment system, energy-efficient LED lighting fixtures and inverter-type of appliances. Regionally sourced plants were used to accentuate the facility and special air-cleaning paints were used in the center.
SM Foundation also provided the health center with a mobile play cabinet for children and a breastfeeding room.
This is the 197th health center renovated by SM Foundation.
