More than 3700 job openings were made available for Caloocan job seekers in the recently concluded Mega Job Fair conducted by the City Government of Caloocan at the SM Grand Central, in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan applauded the city’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO) for their continuous efforts to connect Caloocan residents to potential employers, which resulted in the 10th iteration of the said job fair.
“Hindi po tumitigil ang pamahalaang lungsod sa paggawa ng paraan upang makapaghatid ng nga oportunidad sa mga Batang Kankaloo. Sa maiksing panahon pa lamang ng ating pamumuno, sampung beses na po tayong nagkaroon ng Mega Job Fair sa tulong na rin po ng PESO at ng ating mga katuwang,” he stated.
Mayor Along also highlighted that the city’s livelihood programs do not stop at job fairs, as other programs are also made available to foster more progressive and inclusive sources of income for his constituents.
“Malaking programa po natin ang job fair ngunit batid po natin na hindi lahat ng Batang Kankaloo ay maaaring makapag-apply sa mga trabahong ino-offer sa mga ito,” the Mayor said.
“Kaya naman kami po sa pamahalaang lungsod ay palaging nag-iisip ng iba pang programang pang-kabuhayan na angkop sa iba’t-ibang pangangailangan ng ating mga kababayan. Nandyan ang mga libreng skills training, kasama pa ng livelihood programs para sa mga solo parent, senior citizens, at mga PWD,” the City Mayor added.
