The City Government, through the City Legal Office, and in partnership with the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP)- La Union Chapter, offered free legal assistance and selected city services to residents during the Legal Aid Clinic held at the Basketball Court of Barangay Baraoas, City of San Fernando, La Union on August 25, 2023.
Around 160 residents of Barangays Baraoas, Nagyubuyuban, Pao Norte, and Pacpaco received legal assistance such as legal consultation or counseling, drafting and notarization of legal documents, and other aligned services.
The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) also took part in the legal aid clinic.
The City Civil Registry Office, Office of the City Assessor, City Electrical and Architectural Services Office, and City Social Welfare and Development Office also provided services during the event.
Furthermore, on November 17, 2023, another legal aid clinic will be held at the Barangay Hall of Bacsil, City of San Fernando, La Union. It will serve residents of Barangay Bacsil and its neighboring barangays.
