There are five main body shapes that women often use to categorize their bodies, however, styling for each body shape can be a difficult thing to achieve without proper measurements.

Experts at Boohoo, an online fashion retailer, have revealed the best swimsuit styles for each body type.

These body shapes are not set in stone and should only be used as a guide to finding the best style for your own shape.

It is important to know your body shape to be able to find the perfect swimsuit style for you

Hourglass Shape. The hourglass figure, akin to Kim Kardashian’s, features balanced bust and hip measurements, complemented by a small waist. To accentuate natural curves, prioritize high-cut designs and plunging necklines. Opt for wide-strap bikini tops and high-cut bottoms to showcase your figure.

Pear Shape. With approximately 25 percent of women falling into this category, the pear shape showcases a narrower upper body that widens at the hips and bottom, while maintaining a well-defined waist and slender arms. To enhance your curves, choose frills to add volume to the top and create balance. Embrace V or U-necklines to highlight your cleavage and pair detailed tops with solid bottoms. Consider an ombre one-piece swimsuit to harmonize your silhouette, taking cues from Rihanna’s stylish choices.

Inverted Triangle Shape. Broad shoulders and a defined upper body characterize the inverted triangle shape. Opt for high-cut leg one-pieces or bikinis to draw attention to your hips and legs. Channel the elegance of celebrities like Victoria Beckham and Angelina Jolie by incorporating A-line dresses and ruffles into your beachwear. Dark, solid colors can accentuate your lines, particularly when worn as the top piece.

CONFIDENCE IS KEY. Choose styles that make you feel comfortable and confident, regardless of body type

Rectangle Shape. Rectangle bodies have shoulders and hips of similar width, with minimal waist curves. If you have a smaller bust, consider padding to enhance it. Accentuate your hips with embellishments to define your waist. Patterns and cutouts can create the illusion of curves and draw the eye. Take inspiration from stars like Zendaya and Natalie Portman, who use cinched waist dresses to add definition.

Apple Shape. The apple body type displays balanced bust, waist, and hip measurements, with a less defined waist. This shape often has slimmer arms and legs. When choosing swimwear, opt for one-piece suits with panels, wraps, or tummy control to shape and define your waist. Plunging necklines draw attention to your bust and elongate your torso. Highlight your arms and legs to complete the look.
